Media Intern
Universal Music Group

My name is Jaelyn Jennings (she/her). I am a rising senior public relations major. I am involved in PRowl, PRSSA, WHIP Radio, and Dare 2 Dance. I previously interned a Breslow Partners — a small public relations company — last summer.

I am currently a media intern at Universal Music Group. I work with the publicity team at Republic Records. I hope to work in the music industry in the future, and this internship is definitely combining my passion for music and PR. I am able to see what it’s like being a publicist for a major record label.

There’s so much I love about this internship: the people, the work, the free food, etc. However, my favorite part would have to be the showcases. So far, there has only been one showcase, but I love that new, up and coming artists are able to come in and showcase their talent to the office. It’s also a great way to add artists to my Spotify playlist!

For students who are starting an internship, I would say to make connections with the people in your office. Take the time to introduce yourself to people in the company. For students who are looking for internships, don’t give up. It can be stressful and sometimes defeating, but you can do it. Utilize all of the resources that Temple has like the career center, Klein connect, professors, etc. People want to help you!
