What are your career goals?

I hope to have a career that applies the communication skills I learned in my undergraduate education to the field of Environmental Studies, which I am getting my Master in at the University of Pennsylvania after graduation. This may include doing research on the intersection of the two, working for a government agency or working for an environmental non-profit.

How has the Career Center helped you achieve your career goals?

The Career Center was a HUGE help with the grad school application process! I went to a bunch of the Grad School Week Zooms to first decide if I wanted to get my master's, and then I booked a couple of sessions with a coach to pick my letter of recommendation writers and edit my personal statement for the application. I had no idea how to write a personal statement and the seminars and one-on-one sessions were especially helpful with that.

What tips do you have for students also navigating their careers?

Talk to as many people as you can! I wasn't sure at first what I wanted to study or if I wanted to even go to grad school at all. I talked with professors, advisors, and professionals in the field to get a better idea of what I was looking for, and their insight was immensely helpful.
